Athanasios Vlitas [year 2018 biographical note]
His lineage is from the historic city of Sparta in Greece and he is currently a PhD Researcher at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). His work focuses on both how cultural heritage can be a force for transnational fraternization and the crucial role of cultural tourism as promoter of peace. He studied History of Science at the University of Athens (UoA) and has completed a holistic analysis of the legal and policy means regarding heritage protection through various postgraduate degrees in leading universities across Europe. He has worked in many reputable cultural institutions in Greece and abroad and is a full member of the International Council of Museums and the Hellenic Historical Society.
