IRENE FOGARTY holds a doctorate in World Heritage from University College Dublin (UCD), Ireland. Her work focuses on the urgent need for Indigenous Peoples’ leadership in protected areas conservation, including within the World Heritage system.
Irene is an occasional lecturer in UCD, and a member of the “Our Common Dignity” Rights Based Approaches Working Group of the International Council on Monuments and Sites - the group aims to highlight rights issues in World Heritage and heritage management in general.
